Nested in the heart of historic Grasse ( Maritime Alps), Chez Doudou is the ideal place for the lovers of exotic islands. Since 2007, Pascal Maurinier who was the Chef at 'La Case Creole' in Cannes for 10 years, has moved into the pretty Fabreries Lane, within walking distance from 'Place aux Aires'. This small restaurant of 22 seats, with a terrace open from May to October is an attractive place for foodies who love dishes from the Caribbean Islands.

The restaurant has a lot to offer: hospitality, friendliness, a complete change of scenery, a real trip to sunnier places. As soon as you enter the small room, you can smell the aromas coming out of the kitchen. The decoration inside is ever so cosy and unsophisticated, the walls are covered with reeds, the tables with Madras cloth. There, you are welcomed by Pascal, your host whose kindness is legendary. Just sit and try a tropical drink, a Ti-punch, a Pina Colada and watch out: they're quite strong !
The menu is very promising: Colombo and 'Court-bouillon' from Guadeloupe, Rougail from the Reunion Island, Curries (chicken, fish), Blaff (fish court-bouillon) from Martinique, fritters, samosas and 'Bouchons' (meatballs wrapped in ravioli dough) from The Reunion. A great variety of colours and flavours enhanced by spices such as 'Bois Bandé', Roucoux oil, Ginseng that Pascal himself takes back with him from The Caribbean. The cooking is homemade. Several times a year, special menus are proposed: The Valentine menu, New year's Eve menu, our Coming back menu, a nice way to discover the flavors of the Caribbean.
Doudou also provides a catering service. You can come to the restaurant and take meals away for up to 6 people, over 6, you must order 2 days beforehand.
Pascal is also a home Chef and will prepare meals for your parties, anniversaries and weddings. It is also possible to reserve the restaurant for private parties for 15 up to 22 people.
An absolute must. Come and see for yourself! |
